Detroit's finest group! Like the future but better! Combining an uncanny channeling of The Urinals and early Mekons, Tyvek drops jaws to floors with solid acorns of repetitive punk/pop numbers that become oaks almost instantaneously.
For over 15 years Boris has lead the charge as Japan's most exciting experimental rock act. This fall marks yet another first for the band as they release Japanese Heavy Rock Hits, a series of 7"s showcasing their wide-reaching, genre-smashing sound. The band has been locked in the studio over the last few months and in association with Southern Lord they are ready to bring to you their latest offerings. Over the course of the next 3 months 3 brand new exclusive vinyl 7"s will be released. This is the 2nd.
KEELHAUL'S Triumphant Return To Obscurity 2xLP
Keelhaul's Triumphant Return to Obscurity, is not just a clever name for an album title marking a band's return from obscurity, it's an album title for a band's release marking that same band's return from obscurity. init? Chris Smith, Aaron Dallison, Dana Embrose, and Will Scharf have been at it as Keelhaul for over ten years and it shows. This record picks up on the band's progression as if they were steadily releasing records throughout their six year hiatus. The pace is precise, the instrumentation is masterful and the guitar tones are absolutely appropriate. Look, your old pal Keelhaul knows what he's doing and he ain't affiliated with no williamsburgers, so he feels no need to overcompensate by adding strings, vibes, horns, boners (well maybe boners), harps and/or electric flutes... to his compositions... which is a god damn breath of fresh air if you ask me.

Big thanks to Ohio's SKELETONWITCH for coming down and blazing through 35 minutes of their finest this past Sunday. It was one of those nice 'end to the weekend' sort of nights where the Colt 45 was ice cold and the band was absolutely slaying. If you weren't so sure about Skeletonwitch when you arrived, you were most certainly sure about them when you left.
We recorded the entire set, but what we've posted above are the first two songs of their set "Blinding Black Rage" and "Crushed Beyond Dust". Both tracks are from their new Prosthetic Records album Breathing The Fire, which luck would have it, is officially released today. As you might have guessed, we've got the album in stock and available for $16 on our most favorite of formats….and to make it just a notch sweeter, the band gave us some posters and patches to throw in with each purchase (while supplies last).
Now we're off to edit the comprising footage we have of their labels guys....we'll be using it to bargain for more colored vinyl from them!
